Meet Dr. Kavita Nayar

My journey in dentistry and orthodontics has been shaped by curiosity, perseverance, and a truly global perspective. I began my academic training in India, where I completed both my undergraduate and master’s education in dentistry. Early in my career, I was awarded a scholarship to study and train in Glasgow, Scotland, an opportunity that expanded my clinical training and introduced me to international dentistry.

While in the United Kingdom, I earned my FDS RCPS (Fellowship on Dental Surgery awarded by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow) and obtained my licensure to practice, allowing me to work clinically for several years. Practicing in the UK helped refine my clinical skills and deepened my appreciation for patient-centered, evidence-based care within a diverse healthcare system.

Following my time in the UK, my family relocated to North America, where I continued my advanced training by completing an orthodontic residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Birmingham, Alabama. My residency experience strengthened my interest in thoughtful biomechanics, interdisciplinary care, and individualized treatment planning—principles that continue to guide my clinical philosophy.

Beyond orthodontics, I value balance and creativity in everyday life. I enjoy traveling and photography, often combining the two to capture moments from different parts of the world. Gardening is a grounding hobby for me, and I love spending time outdoors whenever possible—including paddle boarding when I get the chance. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, Oreo and Enzo, who are a constant source of joy and perspective.

Having lived, trained, and practiced across multiple countries, I bring a global outlook to my work—one that blends precision, compassion, and lifelong learning. These experiences allow me to connect meaningfully with patients and colleagues while delivering orthodontic care that is both technically sound and deeply personalized.
